Electric dirt bikes
Does anyone have any experience with them? I just bought a house with room enough for a small track in back. I don't want to spook the neighbors horses, so I'm looking for quiet.
Thanks.

I've ridden the zero MX, and its a TON of fun. You get 30mins or so out of a charge, and they're light enough to jump and get plenty of acceleration. If you're looking at one, be sure to get a spare battery and plug the charger into a 220v outlet, and you're looking at hot-swapping batteries and fun all day.
Think of them more as large trials bikes or a 125 or 150cc really quiet dirtbike and thats about comparable.

Had to move to Utah to get it, but things seem to be working out well. Zero is the only one I could find other than Chinese mini-bikes. The size would actually work perfect, not too big, but enough to get in trouble on.
Wow >10k? And I can't have just 1.

Well if you got the hookup they're WAAAAY less than that. Or live in colorado. State + fed incentive = $5k off retail.

I'll check my local rebates.

IMO we are a few years from having affordable/worthy electric Dirt Bikes.

I wouldn't call the KTM a worthy dirtbike. I would call it the perfect backyard weapon though.
If I had a yard capable of facilitating a small modest track I would be first in line for the Freeride.
