NRS Friday 4/16 @ WSIR - Who's in? (New Racers School)
Looks like I'm gonna take the plunge and see what it's like to race.
Trackdaz is offering the New Racers School on Friday 4/16 at Big Willow for only $100.
NRS info here.
NRS purchase here.
I know J and Johnahan just did it as well as did Simon. Anyone else want to get their racing license for WSMC ?
What can I say, Tye has inspired me
Yes I know it's a Friday but the only Sat. NRS is almost 3 months out.

Cool!
FYI - Not to jinx you guys or anything (I can just hear David giving me shit for what I'm about to say but...LOL!) but don't crash during NRS otherwise you'll have to make it up some other time. Just get through it.

I hear ya.. WSIR is the LAST place I wanna crash... ouch
So do they give you a transponder when u do the NRS? If so, is that above and beyond the $100 ?
Also, how much track time do we get? Do we get to ride every A group session?

You can rent the transponder if you don't have one already. I think it's $20 for the day.
Or you can just borrow someone else's for the day.
They skip the first session to cover introduction, rules, etc. but yes you do ride every session but you need to immediately head back up to class afterwards.
So, there's little down time.

Yes! Only way for them to document your times so officials/instructors can see whether you're under the the required 2:00 min. mark. or not.
Yeah, like you're gonna have any problems doing that. Heck, you should go out there on an NSR50.

You can borrow mine for Friday if you want (I'll be out there for the track day, then practice on Sat. and Race on Sun.), but I think they still charge a fee to borrow someone elses.
You can call the WSMC office to ask if they charge, and how much. (661) 256-1234

Awesome, thanks!
Oh ok.. so this is more a WSMC event? I thought staff from Trackdaz were the instructors? ah NM.. lol I don't need to get into all that.
But ya can't beat $100 to ride almost all the session with some professonal instruction

You guys probably already know this but it's $100 for the NRS but another $$$ or $$ to race with WSMC.
Plus make sure your bike passes tech inspection. This requires safety wiring your bike and removing parts of your bike. The removing part caught me by surprise. For example, to remove the kick stand (<--required) I had to cut the kick stand wiring & solder it. Now keep in mind, your bikes may not require any cutting...just a simple unbolt & unplug wires. My Ninja250 required modifying.
Just letting you guys know in advance so you know what to expect.

Actually, now that you put it that way.. Not exactly sure. I do know that if you use my transponder, it would show up under my name. And the computer that tracks it is in the WSMC office. But maybe dustin or others from Trackdaz can change it to your name for the day too.

You'd have to just check in with Timing/Scoring Dennis for that part.

Thats for racing though isnt it? I don't have to do all that shit for the NRS do I? I liked having my kickstand too
I'm probably not going to race that weekend as we have our SCM day on 4/18@ SOW.
