The TrackDaz 4/16 big Willow event is just over two weeks away! Anybody going? I'll probably grab a U-Haul trailer and drive up from here in Culver City, so I'll have space for another bike; anybody want to carpool? Last time I picked up Mitch/FightingChance... you in again man? Anyone else?

Looks like there are a lot of spots left so I'm guessing it will be a quiet day. I'm interested to see how it is since the trackdays I've done in the past were pretty full.

Post a pic or description so I can spot you out. The dude below in the black/white/red-orange Spidi suit and red/black '03 600RR will come nag you.

I'll be there but i'm already carpooling with someone. I'll be in A group with a bright vest on taking the NRS.

If I make it up there (given great weather and a push out the door down here...) I'll be shooting for under 2min as well, but I don't think Dustin will let me wear a colorful vest like youzz guyzz. :ohno

Everyone have FUN!

im trying to get in, since i missed my last NRS.

RM, does the bike have to pass trackday inspection, or like a racebike inspection for NRS? like safety wired shit and etc..

from my understanding only trackday inspection.

interesting--this has been one of the things that have kept me from doing the NRS...

ah, isn't the point of NRS is to race? :idunno you'll have to prep your bike to race.

well, in the past, it was a question of either having the time or funds to safety wire my bike, then do NRS--but since i've given up any plans of racing for the time being, it's a moot point :owneddance

If you do the NRS with WSMC on Saturday you WILL need full safety wire and race prep. If you do the NRS with a track day org they may not require full race prep. I believe Track Daz requires only normal track day prep, but if you plan to practice with WSMC on Saturday or race Sunday after the NRS you will not pass tech.

as mentioned, track orgs don't require race prep but WSMC will. you'll have to race prep your bike in order to race (or borrow one prepped). honestly, if you're not thinking of racing and prepping your bike in the near future (say this year) what's the point of NRS? you won't have a racing license which you still need to obtain ($120) and a race number, you can't hit the grid to practice at WSMC without the license, number and race prepped bike and a transponder (either rented or owned) and the NRS cert does not signify that you are a licensed racer.

don't get me wrong, i think NRS is great to be offered by track day orgs and WSMC for those that want to learn the basics of proper race track etiquette and *want* to race. the NRS cert is just the stepping stone to racing (kinda like the MSF of racing), it doesn't speak to skill level which is honed once one races.

i heartily encourage anyone who wants to race to do NRS. on the grid, seeing the green and taking the checkered is something everyone should experience in their lifetime and the NRS is the first step to that achievement.
