Have you used one and how reliable are these compare to the alignment marks on your swingarm?

i heard the marks on the swingarm aren't exactly the most accurate thing in the world anyways though

Yeah I don't really align anything anyway.

I saw that, i don't really see the point, might as well just look at it with your eyes.

I've thought about a few different designs to make an alignment tool that is accurate and easy to use, but I don't really have any way of manufacturing one.

use a set of calipers.. those dont work

calipers don't work too well on a lot of bikes either, but probably the best bet in most circumstances

calipers work perfectly is you measure from the same point everytime..

A guy by the name of Jimmy Chance in the Southeast has a chain alignment tool that is killer. He is a stand-up guy and WERA racer from the southeast and his family owns a machine shop.

They also lighten rotors incase anyone is wanting to lighten their rotors. His SN is Phat Chance and you can find him on the WERA BBS. Here is his thread for the alignment tools and rotor work.

i mean't as far as identical measurements on either side, some bikes there is no way to get an equal measurement on either side.

here is the page with those chain alignment tools from the wera board

meh, as the distance gets greater the accuracy gets lower, not a huge fan of that design. I need to sit down one day and draw up plans for the design i am thinking of, would be much more accurate and easier to use.
