SCM Holiday Breakfast ACH Ride, Sunday 12/21

Im hoping most of us can make this one. It would be nice to get a breakfast ride in together before Christmas comes.

Sunday 12/21, meet at the ACH Shell at 9am, take off around 9:30 and head to Nuke's for breakfast. Then possibly the tree or just head back, up to you.

Who can make it?

** For anyone riding out from the IE, specifically the Chino/Chino Hills area: We meet at 8am at the park-n-ride at the Chino Avenue exit and the 71 freeway. We will wait there for maybe 5 or 10 minutes before heading to the Shell station to be there at 9am.**

Well, here it goes:

I have the ninja 650r, which is an upright bike pretty much. So, I bought these aftermarket pseudo-clip ons. They don't clip on to the triple, they use the original bracket that the bar was secured to. So anyway, the design is mediocre and I've had nothing but trouble with the left side since I (Asian Dave) put them on. One of the bolts would constantly back-out and I was forever tightening it before riding. Well, on the drive home Sunday from WSIR, I guess the stress from the canyon dancer/tiedowns pulled enough on the handle that it sheered the bolt in half! Sooo, it is done. I'm gonna have to round up my stock parts and put the OG bar back on. Poop. :sad

My hands hurt when I got to newcomb's. Took a good 20 minutes for the pain to wear off. I had a sweatshirt over my suit to keep the wind out of the perforations in my leather so that helped.

Only thing I would be worried about is the brisk cold air and also the possible black ice....I am staying out of the shade and taking it super slow and easy.

I can skip riding and drive my truck if people feel comfy with a "crash" truck at the end of the ride to make sure people are okay.

There will be moisture and potential black ice early in the morning on the North sides of the mountain. Figure you'll hit that area around 9:45-10am, shouldn't be much if anything on the racing line. :D

im still going, found some silk gloves to wear inside my leather gloves, got my balaclava, and found my thermal long sleeve to wear under my suit and a sweatshirt to go over my suit. if only i could find my thermal bottoms.

side note, Bushy boy ive got an extra long sleeve thermal if u want it. just come over early.

and yeah, we can always BS at the shell longer than usual but ima still shoot to be there at 9am.
