Accepting donation for SCM banner and stickers

The original idea was brought to our attention by HoolieB, use the donated money to sponsor a race bike. After talking to the moderators, the idea is awesome but a bit too ambitious for the site (at least at this time). As much as we hate asking people for money since this isn't about making money, but we hope to get enough support to get a banner made, along with decals that we can pass out for free at the up coming track events. So, we are now accepting donation for a short period of time soley for this purpose (from today until the end of the month). You can use the donation bar on top of this thread, or just click donate (http://www.socalmoto.org/forum/misc.php?do=donate). This is totally optional and you won't get any special privileges, but we hope that it will make you feel more involved in building this site. Thanks in advance for your support.

Banner will be more expensive since it will be 6'x3', so somewhere between $60-80 for material cost if I don't screw up. Prior to being in the business, it cost me $125 + shipping for a 6'x2' banner made for SBN. Decals will be cheaper, so the rest of the money will be for as many decals as possible.

Any plans how to use the excess of money? C'mon, it's gonna be a truckload of stickers. I don't like generic charities. How about helping just one rider in need (better a member, but not necessarily). Like someone recovering from a nasty crash, fire, natural disaster, etc. If there's no candidate, let's spend it on something else, but otherwise I'd make it a monthly thing.

I think the mods wanted this as a one time thing for now to get some exposure for SCM, as we have a VERY long way to make it a "household name". As far as the extra money, they're planning to get some shirts made and give it out.
