My good friend was there sitting right by turn 9 when this happened. I was supposed to head out there but I was on call... They said he wasnt moving as they loaded him on the stretcher.

I guess he had very bad headshake and went straight into the air fence. His bike did manage to make it though the air fence and went into the wall by the bride.

RIP...

Read about it yesterday. RIP. I'm glad they at least have the air fence, but they should do something about that chicane.

I was at the end of the straight and the bike ended up damn close to the 4hundred foot cones going into turn 11. Joey ended up directly under the bridge and was doing a tank slapper from the chicane before he eventually got tossed.

Terrible. Too much of this stuff going on to end last season and start this season!!!

Godspeed!!

So very sad to see and hear about. RIP Joe and Godspeed.

Saw the bike when they brought it in...and yes, they need to do something about turn 9. I had headshake throughout practice.

Yup that dip/rut/bump sucks and without warning your heading for the wall with the bike flopping alll over, been there and always try to keep well inside of the bump, but everytime you get a good run off 8 you end up right on the damn bump!

man what sucks about racing is Insurance wont cover poo, heck on my last accident the insurance company was trying to prove i was racing!! I told them it was just a practice day, no timing, but they were fighting tooth and nail!

I hope alot of people show up and donate alot! I know his family needs it..

God Speed!
